Is there anything I can do in this work/vacation situtation I am in?
I have been at my current place of employment for about eight months, and my store manager approached me recently telling me that I needed to give her a week in which I wanted to take vacation. I gave her this week, which she was fine with, and so it was scheduled. I just got a phone call from my store manager (I am currently on day five of the seven day vacation), telling me something unbelievable. He informed her that I was not eligible for a vacation at this time, and now I am supposed to give my store manager a call to correct the situation. I firmly believe they'll try to prevent paying me, even though it was cleared on the store level. Would they have the right to forfeit my vacation pay in this case? Should I skip the talk with the store manager and go higher up immediately?
