What reservoir victoria like?

we are moving to melbourne (outer suburbs) from sunshine coast qld ( i know what your thinking!) haha but its for better work. we will be renting and have a 12 month old and planning on having another in a year can you give any tips on the area? is it a good area for young kids? we are looking all around that area, we have previously lived in seaford when we were younger which we liked but now decidd we wanted to be closer to the city. any tips?? p.s im not worried about schools as we will be back on the coast by the time our daughter will be in school. thankyou :):)
