Some bride tradition questions?

I'm not too sure of the origins of the traditions, but for my wedding I had my borrowed as my slip (borrowed from my girlfriend that got married 2 years before), my new was just about everything, my old was my grandma's favorite ring (she ped away 3 years ago). As for the garter, I had 2 on the same leg, the lower one was the one that my husband threw and the garter higher up we kept. You could have a pendant or something that belongs to your mother or your grandmother (or his, for that matter) pinned on the inside of your dress. It doesn't have to be seen. You could use something like that for your old/borrowed.
